Twenty years ago on March 25, 2006, a startup aerospace company called SpaceX entered the field of space exploration with their new rocket. The covers shown here were serviced to recognize that first flight of the SpaceX Falcon 1 rocket and were postmarked at the US Army Post Office at Kwajalein Atoll. The postage used for this issue are USPS PC Postage that was generated by me and produced by Zazzle.com, a provider licensed by the USPS to produce official USPS postage. This was a new program at the time and was in a test phase by the USPS. The artwork is a digital image of an artist's concept of the Falcon 1 rocket in flight and was provided by SpaceX and used with permission. SpaceX was also kind enough to provide me with their corporate stationary to be used for this event. Note that the address on their envelope is at the original El Segundo CA location, before they moved their HQ to Hawthorne CA. I will always be very grateful to SpaceX management for helping me with commemorating the flights of their Falcon 1 rocket and with many of their future flights as well. This has been a remarkable twenty-year journey for SpaceX.

Nice covers Richard.Hopefully one day I can have one of these space covers in my collection, or others produced by you for other space missions. |

Fantastic covers Richard, thanks for sharing!I too would love to add one of these to my collection in the future, this was an excellent way to document such a historic launch. It's my understanding from seeing one of the larger business envelopes in the past that on the back there is a note that 78 of those were produced. How many of the #6 covers were made? |

Correct, there were 78 #10 business envelopes produced, and 54 #6 envelopes produced. Approximately half of these envelopes were sent back to SpaceX for their company files. |
