National Geographic Channel will have two shows Sunday night (Oct. 28) about the Space Shuttle Program.

At 8 p.m. EDT, a rebroadcast of Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes and from 9 to 11 p.m., a new show about the whole program, "Secrets of the Space Shuttle." Warm up those DVRs.

Part 1: The space shuttles were intended to be a safe and cost-effective way to get into space, yet ignorance and an impending shutdown threatened that.

Part 2: The Shuttle Challenger's destruction caused America to consider grounding its fleet for good — but would the Hubble telescope save NASA's reputation?

All times are CT (US)
