Astronauten: Eine Familiengeschichte (Astronauts: A Family History)
by Insa Thiele-Eich and Gerhard Thiele
Astronaut, the classic boy dream? Of course, girls dream of weightlessness, too, as demonstrated by Insa Thiele-Eich, who was selected as one of two finalists from more than 400 applicants in the initiative "Die Astronauten." Her childhood dream — next to mother and teacher — was an astronaut.

Her father Gerhard Thiele was able to realize this dream. He was one of eleven Germans already in 2000 in space.

In their book, the two give an insight into their unusual family history between school and astronaut training at NASA. They discuss the quota of women, the everyday life of an astronaut and the future of space travel. And they tell of their dream of space and the humility to live it.
