Albert Heijn and André Kuipers launch a national savings campaign that introduces children to the theme of space space, using the latest VR/AR techniques. In the savings campaign, together with astronaut André Kuipers, children enter the [virtual] space to learn about space and vulnerability of our planet.
With the free AH Space app and 160 spacecraft with facts and facts — 23 of which are available with VR/AR experiences — you end up in higher space spheres. The spacecraft, collection album, VR glasses, and the special André Kuipers flight suit are available in all stores from Monday, May 15.
In the savings campaign by Albert Heijn and André Kuipers education is central. The aim is to show children how exciting space, science and technology are and how vulnerable our planet is. What can we do to wisely deal with the earth? The spacecraft to be collected will focus on topics such as "Living and working in space," "What astronauts do," "What role does space travel in our daily life," "A look at our planet," "Our solar system" and "The universe."
André Kuipers: "This year, spacecraft is 60 years, a great opportunity to tackle this theme. I myself have an Albert Heijn collection of 1953 technology, a time when space has not yet existed. From my mission to show children how fascinating space, science and technology are and how vulnerable our planet is, I approached Albert Heijn with the question of whether they would be interested in a sparing action on space and sustainability. This fits in their beautiful years of tradition. I am proud that we have been able to shape this campaign together and hope that many children will learn a lot about it."
Savings action with the latest VR/AR techniques
Children are given the opportunity to virtual space with Andre Kuipers with VR himself. While enjoying breathtaking views, André teaches everything about space and makes them feel like being. In AR, together with André Kuipers, children go to different places of the solar system. With a smartphone or tablet, children can move around and through the different space destinations and objects, and with the pictures, children create their own universe. The latest AR technology makes for an even richer exploration.

The spacecraft pictures, the collection album, VR glasses, pictures and the special André Kuipers flight suit are available in all stores from Monday 15 May. When spending 10 euros, customers receive a set of 4 space slides. A total of 160 tickets with facts and facts, of which 23 with VR/AR experiences. Cardboard VR glasses are available in the store for 2.49 euro. The collection album is available for 0.99 euro and is free in the first week when you purchase the bonus offer on the front of the folder. The AH Space app can be downloaded free of charge for iOS and Android from May 15th.
