The University of Nebraska Press is keen to keep the Outward Odyssey series going, and to this end I am seeking expressions of interest in a new author writing a book dealing with the story of the spaceflight pioneers who inhabited Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. I believe the central character would have to be the courageous researcher John Paul Stapp, and others who would feature prominently include David Simons, James Henry, and Eli Beeding. This book is only in the conceptual stage at this time, but if you have a particular interest in that dynamic era of space research at Holloman and have some published writing experience I would love to hear from you and discuss any ideas you might have. Either contact me at my email address under the logo above, or leave a message on this forum and I'll get back to you. Thank you. |

A book about the early spaceflight pioneers at Holloman would be great! My dad was an Air Force pilot there from 1966 to 1970 so I missed some of the real pioneering days. But I'll always have a warm place in my heart for Holloman as there were always jets in the air and it was a lot of fun growing up for awhile on an Air Force base. Best of luck finding an author and getting the story told. Put me down for a copy now! |

Only one nibble so far; hard to believe. The offer still stands for a suitable person with a serious interest in researching and writing this book.. |

Still no author/researcher found for this book; is no one interested in putting it together for the Outward Odyssey series? |
