Can anyone tell me the date the photograph on Al Worden's book Hello Earth was taken?

It is sometimes referred to as Earthrise. Thank you.

Best I can tell, that photo was taken during Rev 70, which occurred on August 4, 1971.

That's what the photography index says at least. AOS on that orbit was about 12 noon UTC, and the size of the crescent Earth matches that shown in Stellarium.

David - brilliant!

It's a composite of AS15-97-13268 and AS15-97-13266. Which has then been mirrored left to right. No wonder I couldn't find it anywhere.

All times are CT (US)
