I was wondering if anyone on here is familiar with this - Episode 3 of "From the Earth to the Moon", entitled "We Have Cleared the Tower", opens with what seems to be NASA footage of the interior of an empty Apollo command module, which is on fire. This footage concludes with a violent explosion inside of the spacecraft.

Could this have been footage from a NASA recreation of the fire, perhaps during the initial investigation? Judging by the aspect ratio, frame rate, and film grain, this footage does not appear to be made by the producers especially for the 1998 miniseries.

All attempts to find this clip on YouTube or Google video have failed me, so hopefully someone on here who owns the DVD set knows what I am talking about.

If need be, I can try to make screen shots of it.

The film you see is real. It is a post-fire recreation by NASA to determine how the fire spread in a Block I CM.

Did NASA use spacecraft 14 for that recreation?

All times are CT (US)
