I cannot wait to see Frank Borman. What a perfect time to air this around Christmas.

It was good to see the astronauts - it was a simple summary of the space program. This was the first time I ever heard Lovell give the Apollo 13 crew only a 10% chance of coming back. Also, I think Buzz was a tad disingenuous on stating it was ok with him that Armstrong was picked to be the first to step on the moon.

Does anyone know if this will be re-broadcast? I only saw the last 20 minutes of it.

I was not too impressed by the show on Fox. From a production standpoint, forty years later and the well worn NASA produced "mission films" footage is still getting a workout. Mark Gray at Spacecraft Films has busted his rear over the years bringing the quality of this footage up to date, but organizations like Fox continue take the shortcuts and use the same old tired, blurry, fourth generation copies for their productions. People need to be reminded that it was actually good, clean and clear footage to start with. It is always good to see the astronauts and the history of Apollo in prime time, but can we ever present the footage in it's glorious original form?

I have to agree; I wasn't impressed either. And yes they could have done better on the video. But heck, this comes from a guy who has had the ultimate pleasure to talk at length (and sometimes in the bar) to all these guys (except Borman). We should count our blessings that the ASF and Novaspace provide us the opportunity to talk to these Magellan's and Balboa's!

I think it was fairly obvious to all on this post that that this special would be another summary of the moon missions. Regardless, it was great to see all of the astronauts. I was glad to see Apollo 8 recieve some airtime. Of course, 7, 9, and 10 were glossed over.

Since this was on a much viewed channel there is the bonus that it was viewed by a larger audience. Hopefully, some of that audience learned something or became interested in these missions.

All times are CT (US)
