After the launch of Atlantis, I was walking by the water's edge at the Press Site when I encountered an artist, Larry Moore, using a timeless method of recording the event: This week I tracked Larry down, and found that he is selling prints of the finished work. If anyone is interested (and I certainly was, as I think his work captures the feel of that day beautifully) his webpage dedicated to his visit to KSC is here. |

Excellent work! I could never work that way 'in the field', so I admire those who can...I have probably told this before, but I am once again reminded of the time when I was part of a group of photographers covering the STS-8 launch preparations at KSC. When we passed a group of artists working near the launch pad, just like Larry is doing in the photo, one of the reporters said: "Can't you guys afford a camera?". | |
