If you want to see new pictures of space history, look at my blog. I make original images from old movies. Privileged witnesses of the conquest of space, the cameras were present from the beginning of the adventure, as the American side that the Russian side. Films with a more or less good. The advance of computing, word processing and assembly of view makes possible a new vision for this venture. This method I called Archéovidéo to retrieve new images from the past. |

A new "restored" picture of Buzz Aldrin's face during first EVA on the Moon.I worked one year for this picture, and I used a large number of image processing software. This image is the resulting output from the addition of thirty-three images of the original NASA film restored in 2009. What do you think? |

I have always felt that I was seeing faces in the helmets of Apollo 11 but they are fleeting and obscure at best. Perhaps I was correct after all...Thank you for the images Nyos! |

A similar thing can be done using the Hasselblad frames. This composite was made using AS11-36-5305, 5306 and 5312. |

I cannot fight against an Hasselblad. I had never seen this picture, thank you heng44. My process uses only images from video and/or 16mm camera. And my first objective is to revisit space history through video archives. My views are assembled by individual frames of video (very slightly modified), the goal is to obtain an "original image" ever seen. Here, this is not the case Thanks for your comments! |

Apollo 17, LM docking before TLI. Panorama extracted from individual pictures of 16 mm camera. With Harrison Schmitt, Gene Cernan and Ronald Evans, Apollo 17 was the final mission of the United States Apollo lunar landing program. 40 Years Anniversary. |

Nice work. There are lots of new images to be had from the TV and 16mm footage. I have had a go at this myself and I have the same post TLI, pre-docking image from Apollo 11. The thing that the image from the film has over the photo composite is acuracy. What you see in the film composite is what you would have seen in real life, I don't know if the photo composite depicts the view of the scene as it really happened. |

I've looked at the Apollo 11 tv and 16mm footage and I can't find that view. In the footage the earth appears in the top right hand corner and then pans down and to the left before the LM comes into view. How did you put together the clip shown above? |
