Air & Space is publishing a 100-page magazine about the shuttle history. Couldn't find it on their website so it may be offered (at least for now) only to subscribers to Air & Space (info received by email).

From Air & Space, March 2011:
Special Collector's Edition: Space Shuttle, 1981-2011, Stories from 30 Years of Exploration

Air & Space/Smithsonian magazine presents a special edition chronicling the invention of the shuttle and telling the stories accumulated over 30 years of missions.

  • The Mother of All Pit Crews: As soon as a space shuttle rolled to a stop, a thousand technicians rolled up their sleeves.

  • Meet the Orbiters: A fleet of winged spacecraft, the likes of which we'll never see again.

  • Astronaut Stories: Tales from the shuttlenauts, in their own words.

  • 5-4-3-2- Abort!: How do you stop a space shuttle launch in the last seconds before liftoff?
Issues can be purchased by telephone at (800) 250-1531, or online at airspacemag.com/spaceshuttle, or at newsstands and bookstores. The special issue will go on sale March 1, 2011. The cover price is $8.99.

Are these previously published articles from the Smithsonian Air & Space magazine?

I just picked up a copy and it's definitely worth getting. Very good articles, great pics and loaded with facts and figures.

Looks like it will be around until August.

The magazine is mainly a collection of articles about the shuttle and its accompanying component parts i.e. SRBs and ET. There is also a whole collection of memories from various astronauts.

It's a good magazine and worth getting hold of.

I purchased this commemorative magazine when it first came out and purchased one last year as well. Both issues had different photos of the shuttle on the cover as does the 2014 offering by the Smithsonian.

Are the articles the same in this latest issue or are there different ones?
