I recently purchased NASA's 40th Anniversary spiral bound book with metal covers (#1448/1500). It contains the autographs of two moonwalkers (Young, Cernan) and six shuttle astronauts (Jernigan, Culbertson, Chang Diaz, Lu, Reilly, Cockrell). I have been unable to find out much about the book and am wondering if anyone knows anything about it. |

I'm working off memory only, but I believe the book was the souvenir from a gala held in celebration of NASA's anniversary. I'm not sure what the cited prices are based on, but I would be skeptical of their validity if it is indeed the same book that I recall. As for the autographs, if they are authentic and not pre-printed, they may have been obtained at the dinner but I do not believe they part of a limited signing. Again, that's just what I recall and I could be wrong. |

It does seem to be a commemorative souvenir rather than a published book. The signatures are authentic. |

This was the same book I recalled and thanks to Cernan's inscription, was able to identify the event: NASA 40th Anniversary Appreciation Dinner in Houston with Walter Cronkite as emcee. |
