From HobbySpace:
Roger Launius, curator at the National Air and Space Museum and formerly the Chief Historian for NASA, gives a serious examination of space filk music in Got Filk? Lament For Apollo In Modern Science Fiction Folk Music presented by at the 55th Int. Astronautical Congress 2004, Vancouver, Canada. A version of this paper was also in a recent issue of the Quest: The History of Spaceflight Quarterly.
Also: HobbySpace has a full section devoted to space-inspired music.

That's a brilliant and very thought-provoking article; an excellent exploration of the social and cultural impact of the Apollo program. I'd like to see more like it.

I also appreciate the intro into the world of space filk. Some of the songs are really beautiful.

Although not featuring music, you may like my article APOLLO-11: How The World Found Out - which I wrote back in 1974.

It gives many facts and figures about how Apollo-11 information was distributed and presented throughout the world.

I have it as a PDF if you want a copy
