Below are clippings I've collected over the years which give some details on where several of the 1000 cabin covers went. It is stated that 990 of them were given to the Postmaster General, William Bolger, for distribution to public figures such as dignitaries and US congress members in addition to philatelic museums. Some time ago #254 was for sale on eBay and did not meet its hidden reserve...I don't believe it was ever relisted. They certainly don't come up for public sale very often.

Was a listing ever made listing who received the covers? The articles you posted were the exact ones I was reading. | |
