Has anyone recently sent Alexei Leonov anything to sign using the address for cosmonauts listed here on cS? If so, how long did it take for you to receive the item back from Leonov? How much did it cost to ship it and to provide return shipping on the return SASE? Was your item in good condition upon its return? Anything you would like to say about the experience would be helpful. Thanks. |

I have not heard of any replies from Leonov through the usual Star City address for ages. Thus, the answer to other question is simply "never seen my stuff again". Alexei Leonov is having frequent personal appearances, though, and is very approachable for autographs on those occasions. |

Thanks. I guess I won't go to the expense of sending him a book with return postage if it is going to fall into the big, black hole. It would be nice if he came to the US somewhere that I could go to see him, but I'm guessing he doesn't make it over here that often these days. |

I just picked up in my mailbox something I pretty much had forgotten about and just wrote off. I had four ASTP covers that I purchased in my teenage days and an NASA ASTP litho that I sent to Russia to have signed by Alexei Leonov. Well today they showed up and were all signed. I sent these to Russia in the Fall of 2009. Better late than never |

I just heard from a friend that he also got his photos back sent to Leonov at the Star City address in 2000, thus 13 years (!) ago.Never give up on these folks, and make sure you got a mailbox on your tombstone! |

I met Leonov at the Burbank California show (2003? 2005?). I had him sign an X-PRESS NASA Flight Research Center August 1969 newsletter cover already signed by Neil Armstrong. I told him that it was great to have his signature next to Armstrong's, the first man to walk on the moon. He misunderstood and thought I said Armstrong was first man to walk in space. He gave me that Russian look and said sternly, "I first man walk in space!" Then he signed. Leonov (Russian cursive signature) A. Leonov (English block letters) 1st Man Walk in Space Voshod - 2 Soyuz 19 ASTP |

I am wondering with the many returns from Leonov if he is cleaning out his desk at his bank. Where were the returns mailed from? |
