Does anyone know if Joe Allen accepts books to be signed in the mail?

I have just found my 1985 copy of "Entering Space" in the loft, which was my first space related book when I was 7. Come to think of it, I also had a pop up book which had a shuttle lift off with moving exhaust clouds... I wish I could find that one...

Does anyone out there know Joe Allen's signing habits, particularly with his book "Entering Space"?

He signed that book for me through the mail a long time ago.

When Allen and the astronauts came through the line on their way back to the museum at the Discovery transfer event, Allen said he'd sign inside. However, I never found him. I did hear, though, he signed on other days he was at Udvar-Hazy.

He was up on the mezzanine (I guess they call it) -- the walkway overlooking STS Discovery displayed in the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar on one side, and the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar on the other.

He was up there signing and posing for photos along with several other shuttle astronauts. At least that's where I saw him on Friday -- not sure about Thursday however.

Joe Allen was at the Udvar-Hazy Center this week for Discovery's arrival. I talked to him on Friday and got his autograph. He said he'll gladly sign anything sent to him through the mail, but requested that you include packaging for the return trip.

Lucky dog!

Thanks for posting the photo — I was a few months late for his appearance, but REALLY was stunned at the entire Udvar-Hazy setup... Have to settle for sending my book to him for an inscription.
