Aloha Dave!I asked Scott Carpenter this question about a year or so ago as he signed a photo for me of himself and Ms. Bibby in front of his Aurora 7 spacecraft. He did not know her current whereabouts other than to say that she used to work for the Chrysler Corporation during the time she was painting mission insignias on the Mercury spacecrafts. I am more curious than ever now! I have a way to check with Wally Schirra and possibly Gordon Cooper. I'll let you know my findings. Maybe someone else on CS will share their knowledge on the subject in the meantime. Take care, Bruce Moody |

Thanks Bruce, I just purchased a signed photo of Wally Schirra beside the Sigma Seven capsule insignia with Cecelia. I would love to get this one autographed by her. I just sent an Email to Spacepatches.info to see if they had any info on her.I'll keep this message site informed. The game is afoot! Aloha for now, Dave.

Thanks Richard and Bruce, I visited her website and also sent her an Email with an explaination of why she might be getting a few Emails, hopefully she won't be bothered. I think it would be grand to have her autograph by some of the artwork she has done that is proudly hanging on my walls! Aloha All!!------------------

Does anyone know whatever happened to those naked ladies that Cece Bibby painted onto the periscope pads for some of the Mercury flights? The originals were painted on cell stock and then cut down to the proper size so that when the astronaut went through the "verify periscope op" phase of the countdown, the view was a lot more pleasant than he bargained for! Any info on the images would be appreciated.Best, Bruce |

Hello Everyone,Farthest Reaches is now working with Cece and will in the next week be offering a selection of very reasonably priced, high quality signed images. She will be featured with John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, and Wally Schirra and will also include short but pertinent inscriptions as is our hallmark. Feel free to email if questions or should you need additional information. ------------------ Steve Hankow http://www.farthestreaches.com |
