Now that a President Rutherford B. Hayes painted mural has been completed, the Ohio History Connection is currently kicking around the idea of other Ohio Barn mural paintings. They include Neil Armstrong, presumably in Wapakoneta, and a Packard automobile mural in Warren (where the Neil Armstrong "First Flight" Memorial resides).
The concept for the Ohio History Barns was inspired in part by the popularity of the Ohio Bicentennial Barns commissioned early last decade by the state’s bicentennial commission, according to an Ohio Turnpike spokesman...

...Steve George, senior adviser to the historical agency’s chief executive, said they have “kicked around the idea” of doing a Packard automobile barn along the turnpike near Warren, where the Packard Motor Car Co. was founded and where the National Packard Museum is.

Other potential subjects for Ohio History Barns, Mr. Newbacher said, include the six other U.S. presidents born in Ohio, plus Thomas Edison, Neil Armstrong, the Wright Brothers, the Native American leader Tecumseh, and Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman.
