Kathy and I will be visiting Australia later this year as part of a Friendship Force Expedition. Any suggestions for space (or aviation) places to visit? We'll be in Cairns, Brisbane (North Moreton), Gold Coast (Tweed Valley), Sydney (two nights/one day), Ulurhu, and Melbourne. |

In Sydney, make sure you visit the Powerhouse Museum as they have a truly fabulous space exhibit auditorium, including an actual F-1 engine. Unfortunately the wonderfully knowledgeable curator who set all of this up, Kerrie Dougherty, was one of a swathe of employees who lost their jobs in a recent round of staff cuts. |

You might want to check out the Royal Australian Air Force Museum in Point Cook, a 25-minute drive from Melbourne and next to RAAF Williams air base. | |
