I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could recommend to me sources of information (websites, books, people willing to be briefly interviewed, etc.) about what Pax River, where so many future astronauts have been and continue to be stationed, was like in the early 1960s- specifically during the Kennedy administration. I went to St. Mary's College just a few miles from there, and I'm doing an article for my alumni magazine about an interesting connection back then between Pax River and my alma mater: naval aviator Alan Bean started his painting career by taking night classes there. He has kindly agreed to a brief interview, and while I think that the questions I already have would be adequate, I want to be sure I am as prepared as possible. I think posting here would be the best place to respond, but if, for example, your information consists of contact information for someone who might be willing to be interviewed, than an e-mail to me would be great. Thank you very much for your time. | |
