The "missing man" formation concluded memorial services at the Johnson Space Center four days after the Challenger accident in Florida. Four NASA T-38 jet aircraft were used for the symbolic flight.

Does anyone know who the NASA pilots or astronaut pilots were who flew these planes for the ceremony?

Per a memo reproduced here, the pilots were:
  • David Mumme and Charles Hayes
  • Kenneth Baker and Stephen Feaster
  • Joe Tanner and Pete Stanley
  • Charles Justiz and Al Crews
Tanner and Stanley flew the T-38 that pulled away for the "missing man" maneuver.
