Half a century ago this week, the Mobile Quarantine Facility was offloaded from Apollo 9 recovery ship USS Guadalcanal. The MQF had been aboard the Guadalcanal for a four-day test during Apollo 9 recovery operations to develop procedures for Apollo 11. Inside the MQF were flight surgeon Dr. William Carpentier and test subjects Paul Kruppenbacher, Arthur Lizza and Texas Ward.

Another great image. I really love seeing these behind the scenes shots. All this activity tends to get forgotten. Thanks again Ed.

Didn't know the MQF had a test drive on Apollo 9 along with Spider!

Thanks, Ed.
