Endeavour undergoes a 22-second firing of its three main engines at Launch Pad 39B on April 6, 1991, a month before its maiden flight. The test began at 11:12 a.m. EDT, following a short delay caused by a blown fuse in the Mobile Launcher Platform. |

Great picture of reusable liquid oxygen/hydrogen engines with a 100% success at work. Unbelievable that the engines are being modified to be used on SLS and then dumped into the ocean... |

At least they are being used again. While I greatly appreciated the opportunity to see the Saturn V on display at KSC, I wish it had been used to launch astronauts to the Moon (or Skylab 2). |

Was at that maiden launch of OV-105 Endeavour. Scheduled T-Zero was late afternoon, 7:06pm. It was a warm and beautiful day there at the Cape. STS-49 rollout was in March. Flight Readiness Firing was in April. Liftoff was on May 7, 1992 at 7:40pm. A slight 34-minute countdown hold was caused by unacceptable weather conditions at a TAL site. |

Not needed for a Skylab 2 mission, but Apollo 18 would have been nice. That being said, It it an awesome experience to see the fully configured Saturn/Apollo moon rocket when walking into that room. |

I agree. There is a sense of awe as you first view the Saturn V engine exhausts that turns into amazement as the whole rocket is revealed. It may well serve as inspiration for generations of astronauts and engineers to come. |

I took the Skylab 2 comment to mean the second Orbital Workshop, had the decision been to extend the manned stays beyond Skylab 4 and well beyond the design life of the original Orbital Workshop. |
