Skylab 2 fueling test at Pad 39B on January 30, 1973. The Saturn 1B launch vehicle is carrying a dummy spacecraft without launch escape system.

I never saw this shot before. I suppose the whole stack had to be rolled back to the VAB again after the test to install the "flight" spacecraft.
Why was the test not performed with the flight configuration vehicle without the necessity to move it back and forth (if it was the case)?

The test without spacecraft was testing out the modified facilities to allow a Saturn 1B rocket to be launched from Pad 39B.

The launch escape sytem can be seen still on the dummy spacecraft inside the VAB in photo 72-H-1494 dated December 18, 1972.
