Exactly 46 years ago today, Jim Lovell (background), Ken Mattingly and Fred Haise (not shown) suit up for Apollo 13's countdown demonstration Test (CDDT) at the Kennedy Space Center. Lovell is talking to suit tech Clyde Teague.

The only images I have seen that show Ken Mattingly wearing the Apollo 13 beta cloth mission patch on his suit are CDDT photos.

Nice photo Ed. No one could have imagined how events were to turn out for this mission.

I wonder what became of Ken Mattingly's suit. Weren't they custom fitted to each individual?

I think Mattingly reused his Apollo 13 suit as his Apollo 16 training suit. He might be wearing it in photo S72-31046. Note the location of the NASA meatball.

Per the Smithsonian's website and Amanda Young's book, Mattingly's Apollo 13 and/or Apollo 16 training suits are not in the National Air and Space Museum's collection.

According to the chart posted by Rick Mulheirn in this thread, Mattingly's training suit for Apollo 16 was Dick Gordon's backup suit for Apollo 12 (s/n 059).

059 was also Mattingly's Apollo 13 primary suit.
