This photo of Gemini 11 command pilot Pete Conrad was taken by pilot Dick Gordon on September 13, 1966, while Gordon's hatch was open to jettison EVA equipment that was no longer needed. |

Claustrophobia in a nut shell... or should that be a Gemini spacecraft? |

Mercury had 50 cu/ft of space. Gemini had 35 per person. |

It's been compared to a Volkswagen Beetle of that era for interior room, but I think the Beetle had more. Especially when you add the inflated pressure suits to the mix.I definitely wouldn't fit! |

But on the plus side, "zero-G" allows you access to ALL of the interior compartment. |

I'm sure Frank Borman and Jim Lovell had their hands - and interior compartments - full during their marathon Gemini flight, so it must have felt like being sprung from solitary confinement! |

I remember seeing a Gemini at the visitor's center and Goddard Space Center, which I believe was Gemini XI. I couldn't believe how small inside they were. |
