Yes, it's a two-seater, but we'll make room for you, my dear. |

In fact it was a three seater. Almost looks like a scene from the "One Million Dollar Man" series... so 1970s! |

Or to quote a classic from the Goons - "Do you come here often?" "Only in the mating season!" |

Okay Ed, that's a challenge. Alexei was probably thinking about training for ECA (extra-curricular activity). |

Somehow this puts me in mind of Kevin Bacon's cinematic "Jack Swigert" explaining rendezvous and docking... |

Which newsman - was it Cronkite? - that asked Buzz, "Who's this woman they're throwing out of the LEM?"Buzz asked what he was talking about, and the newsman persisted, "See, it says right here in the flight plan, 'Eva on moon's surface.' " |

"You'll look very fetching in this new suit, Alexei. In case of water landing pull the ripcord to inflate." |

Frank Borman tells the story in his memoir Countdown. It took place during a White House meeting prior to Apollo 11, and the question came from White House speechwriter William Safire. (And knowing Safire's persona as I do, he may have been asking in jest.) |
