In fact it was a three seater.  Almost looks like a scene from the "One Million Dollar Man" series... so 1970s! |

Frank Borman tells the story in his memoir Countdown. It took place during a White House meeting prior to Apollo 11, and the question came from White House speechwriter William Safire. (And knowing Safire's persona as I do, he may have been asking in jest.) |
