Veteran crewmembers from Space Shuttle mission 61C pose prior to a Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test with the orbiter Atlantis at Pad 39B on November 18, 1986. The exercise was held in order to keep KSC personnel current in launch activities after the Challenger accident. Left to right are Charlie Bolden, Hoot Gibson, Pinky Nelson, Franklin Chang-Diaz and Steve Hawley. Ed Hengeveld |

Nice photo of astronauts on the walkway next to the "white room". "Hey Hoot, which way do we go, to the left or the right?" |

I do not think any astronaut has spent as much time in the shuttle on the pad as Steve Hawley. |

Doesn't Steve Hawley hold the record for most Space Shuttle scrubs? |

Funny thing is, this is the closest Hawley will get to flying Atlantis. |
