Forty years ago, the Apollo 12 crew was first in line for the mission simulators at JSC and KSC. With their mission four weeks away, the training schedule for the second lunar landing was getting more and more intensive. But with Pete Conrad around, maintaining ‘an even strain’ was never a problem. The ‘GO Navy’ banner on his chest tells it all. Ed Hengeveld |

Biggest non-serious opportunity lost, of the American space program - Conrad not being able to wear that giant baseball cap (he tried to stowaway) on the moon. |
