Forty years ago today, the crew of Apollo 12 was in the final weeks of their training. Moonwalkers Pete Conrad (right) and Al Bean are seen here practicing their EVA activities in a simulated lunar landscape at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston. At left is support astronaut Ed Gibson, who would be CapCom during the mission.

Great picture.

I remember having these training pictures on a set of ViewMaster discs.

It must have been cool to view these in stereo on a ViewMaster!

I see these pictures - the car in the background dating it - and I think to myself,
"Jump'n Gees...they've already been there (Moon)...and no one's been back."

It's kind of depressing. Terrific picture, though.
