Forty years ago today, it was a busy time at the Kennedy Space Center. Apollo 9 was waiting for launch at Complex 39A, while the hardware for Apollos 10 and 11 was already in place. This photo shows CSM-106 just after installation of the engine bell, being prepared for mating with the LM and SLA for Apollo-10.

Congrats, Ed, No. 222. "Schnapszahl" as we say in Germany.

Now THAT is an historic photo. Is there a similar photo for Apollo 11?

Yes, there is. We'll get to that in April.

No sure if you are referring to me with the "not helpful"?

The link is to a definition of Schnapszahl: multidigit number with all digits identical.

Thanks, I had never heard that expression. Funny guys, these Germans.

"Schnapszahl" are for example 22, 444, 777, 7777 ..., but not 7. "Schnaps" is alcohol and when you are drunken you only have to remember one number. In Dutch is the word: Repdigit.

No, not you in person!

I indeed saw the definition but I didn't think it was THE definition as the word "Schnapszahl" is not in the dictionaries I've consulted! So I broke the word into two "Schnaps" and "zahl/Zahl", hence my reference to beer/alcohol as East-Frisian pointed out.

7 years of "learning" German with no tangible results...

Chris.
