Miss Edwards sits on the wing of X-15 no. 1 at Edwards Air Force Base in July 1962. This photo comes from the excellent X-15 Photo Reference CD.

Guess you couldn't do that these days - you'd have to have a "Mr Edwards" as well

Hello Ed, thanks for photo. She looks deserving of the title and seems to be "reigning" from up high. Great to see a woman's photo.

Do you have one of Valentina Tereshkova? There is a new book out "Women in Space Following Valentina" by Davis Shayder. Should be an interesting read for those interested in the subject.
