”Oh please, can I come too?” Skylab-2 commander Pete Conrad seems to be begging pilot Paul Weitz to let him come along to the Skylab space station in this training photo taken in May 1973. Conrad, Weitz and science pilot Joe Kerwin started their record-breaking flight later that month.

The caption doesn't say, but it looks like he is adjusting the zipper-cover on Weitz's suit.

I think the guy in the background is preparing the life vest kit for Kerwin's spacesuit. You can see Kerwin's hand at extreme left.

This photo appeared in the May 11th,1973 issue of the Hartford (CT) Times newspaper. It was credited as being an AP photo and the caption reads:
" "Pete" Conrad aids fellow astronaut as Paul Weitz tries to get into his suit."

While sort of vague, clearly Pete was helping Paul by making some sort of an adjustment.

He could be begging not to go. You know...giant space rats and all.
