The Apollo-14 astronauts Al Shepard, Stu Roosa and Ed Mitchell (left to right) take a break from posing for their official crew portrait in December 1970. This unique behind-the-scenes look was provided by J.L. Pickering, who is a regular contributor to Kipp Teague’s Apollo Archive. J.L. is currently preparing to offer for sale compilation CDs of his vast archive of scans, containing hundreds of unique views of the early space missions not available anywhere on the internet. His scans are high resolution, cleaned up and where necessary color-corrected to offer the best possible quality. Scans include date and photo ID where possible. Apollo-15, Apollo-12 and Gemini-3 will be among the first sets and will be available soon. Watch this space… Ed Hengeveld |

That IS a great photo. But it gives credence to the claim that the Apollo missions were "staged." |

This pic makes me think of those few great seconds we were treated to every week in the opening credits of Star Trek Enterprise-- of Shepard suiting up with that grin on his face that said, 'Yep, another day at the office; and we're GOIN' TO THE MOON!' |
