STS-1 commander John Young walks away from the Shuttle Training Aircraft after some practice approaches to the Kennedy Space Center runway on April 11, 1981, the morning after the April 10 launch scrub. It was really exciting to stand in the grass next to the Shuttle Landing Facility and watch the STA fly over very low. The T-38 that escorted it whizzed right over our heads. Even the NASA escorts were impressed.

Is that the most mission patches we've ever seen on a John Young photo? I count five here (every mission he flew or was about to fly at the time). I've never seen him wearing all six. He appeared to stop wearing the Gemini 10 and Apollo 10 patches in later photos.

Anyone have a photo of Young wearing all six patches for his flown missions?

All times are CT (US)
