In July 1964 astronauts Frank Borman (left) and Elliot See demonstrate prototype thermal over-garments designed to protect men on the moon from the direct rays of the sun. Note the small LEM-model to create the illusion they are actually on the moon! Ed Hengeveld [This message has been edited by heng44 (edited December 14, 2005).] |

Never knew there were pics of astro's wearing this type of stuff ! I have a block 1 training manual which shows early clothing and this looks very similar to the thermal covering in the diagrams. http://adboo.com/auto/block1.htm Well done Ed. Adam |

This is a great shot, nice to see Elliot See on a "moonwalk" - a "what could have been" moment.Of course, his name did make it to the lunar surface on Apollo 15: http://www.lpi.usra.edu/expmoon/Apollo15/A15_MemorialFS.gif |

Oh yes ... I agree. The scenery, rocks, lighting and LM are absolutely faultless, but they slipped up, as Elliot See was no longer around. They can't fool us experts! Colin |
