The Apollo-1 crew prepare for water egress training aboard the NASA Motor Vessel Retriever in the Gulf of Mexico on October 27, 1966. Ed White can be seen wearing a battered old spacesuit, standing near the hatch of the boilerplate Apollo. Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee are out of frame to the left.
