Astronauts Joe Kerwin (left) and Rusty Schweickart are inside the crew compartment of a Lunar Excursion Module mockup at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston during stowage tests on January 7, 1966.

Ed, another great photo. Interesting to note they are wearing an early version of the ILC A7L suit, almost a year before the crew of Apollo 1 was to fly wearing the David Clark A1C suits derived from Gemini. Curious as to why NASA kept the Clark suit, when the ILC suit was available.

I don't have the book handy but I think that Kozloski's "US Space Gear" shows Kerwin in the same suit, possibly with cover layer. Maybe the A5L, possibly the A6L.

Like Ed says, it's a stowage test in the LM and Block I suits were never going to be used in the LM.

Cheers,
Matt
