There have been quite a few articles recently on radiation affecting the human brain on a Mars trip. What type of radiation shielding can be incorporated into the space capsule?

I would think weight would be a major consideration.

If memory serves, at one time there were discussions about using a layer of water as radiation shielding. I don't know how thick this layer would have been, but I believe it wouldn't be as heavy as lead.

All times are CT (US)
