Barbara Barrett, back-up to spaceflight participant Guy Laliberté on the 2009 Soyuz TMA-16 mission to the International Space Station, is President Donald Trump's nominee to be the next Secretary of the U.S. Air Force.
I am pleased to announce my nomination of Barbara Barrett of Arizona, and former Chairman of the Aerospace Corporation, to be the next Secretary of the Air Force. She will be an outstanding Secretary!
Barrett has served on the Smithsonian's national board and also on the boards of the Space Foundation and National Air and Space Museum.

In 2009, she trained at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia.

Well, she's certainly "high speed low drag."

From astronaut Cady Coleman on Twitter:
Barbara Barrett as next US Air Force Secretary??!! We’ve known each other since I was a young captain, and then we trained in Star City together. I am always so proud of Barbara Barrett's clear vision, leadership and command of both the big and the detailed pictures. Go USAF!

All times are CT (US)
