After 35 years at NASA, Christine McDonough is retiring. Her last day is today (Feb. 24, 2005). She is the one who has been sending all of us the photos from the Astronaut Office.

I called this morning and wished her happy retirement. I hope some of you will do the same.

I got to meet Christine during a recent visit to Johnson Space Center, and it was one of my most exciting "sightings" of the trip. It was great getting to thank her in person for all the help she's given.

I faxed her a 'Happy Retirement' and thanked her for all she has done not only for me, but for all of us in general.

I posted a card to her last week, thanking her for what she has done and wished her all the best.

From this side of the pond, Happy Retirement Christine...

I won a multi-signed presentation in the most recent RR auction, and I'm in the process of trying to figure out who signed, and what job they held at NASA. One of the signatures that I'm trying to find out more about the signer is Christine McDonough.

I'm guessing from what I'm reading in the above part of the thread that she was associated with the NASA PR department. Is this correct? Another person that I'm trying to figure out about is Lynn Cross and I'm guessing she too was in PR. Is this correct?

You can find Christine's signature just above Alan Bean's in the ninth slot in the left most signature column. You can see Lynn's signature just below the picture on the second from the right column.

Some other signers that I'm trying to figure out are:

  • Carole Boudrean
  • Jean Ellis
  • Mac Eubank
  • Connie Fischell
  • Mary Gibson (nee, Lobo?)
  • Paul Hick
  • Charlotte Hinds
  • Jeannie Marks
  • Alice Martin
  • Thomas McClure (or McGlure?)
  • 'Pat" Patrosky
  • Sue Symms
If you know anything about the above could you please let me know via this thread. Thank you!!!

I just found out that Sue Symms was Deke Slayton's personal secretary, but I still need to find out about the others if you have any info. Thank you!
