Would unflown be Robert Stevenson, born January 15, 1921? (John Glenn was born July 18, same year.) |

Okay then it is: - Astronaut John Glenn. Born 18th July 1921. First (earliest) born human in space.
- Cosmonaut Sergei Anokhin. Born 1st April 1910, First (earliest) born space unflown human with astronaut/cosmonaut in his title. (If we can consider a unflown instructor/trainee as a astronaut)
Mesmerizing facts. Thanks for the answers. |

Were X-15 pilots who got their astronaut wings considered? I don't know if any of them were born before Glenn. |

Among future space travelers, cosmonaut Georgi Beregovoi was born in April 1921. Astronaut John Glenn was born in July of that year. They were the first two. |

Joe Walker was born on February 20, 1921. He is the only X-15 test pilot to fly higher than 100 km.Georgi Beregoy was born on April 15, 1921. In 1968 he spent almost 4 days in space on board Soyuz 3. |

After that information the updated list will be like this, earliest born astronauts: - Astronaut/testpilot Joe Walker. Born on February 20, 1921. First (earliest) born human in space, non orbital (X-15).
- Cosmonaut Georgi Beregoy (Beregovoi). Born April 15, 1921. First (earliest) born human in space orbit (Soyuz 3).
- Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova. Born April 6, 1937. First (earliest) born woman in space and orbit (Vostok 6).
- Cosmonaut Sergei Anokhin. Born 1st April 1910, First (earliest) born space unflown human with astronaut/cosmonaut in his title. (If we can consider a unflown instructor/trainee as a astronaut)
Maybe the list will change in the future when space tourism is launched. Tereshkova can possibly be surpassed by another woman older than 78 years (2014), but not very likely.Interesting with Joe Walker, he was actually the first pilot that reached space in a reusable non-orbital spacecraft. Thanks for the info all. |
