When I was young, I recall with some help of my father's recollection, personally shaking the hand of Wernher von Braun at a convention in 1975 in which he was the guest speaker. All I can recall is that it was at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida at one of their grand hotels. It was a convention for land surveyors/engineers. He spoke about his accomplishments in the space program and had inspirational words for the younger generations to come. Some of which he took the time to speak to me about one-on-one when my father introduced me to him.

My question is, is there anyone out there on the forums that would have any information, pictures, etc. on Wernher von Braun around that time, circa 1975, that they would be willing to share? What would be chance that someone actually has pictures or a brochure from that convention? I understand that his career with NASA ended around 1972 and he passed away in 1977. I don't know much more than that, but I would like to know more.

Here is something to read about Mr. von Braun during the time period you stated.

Perhaps someone at the National Space Society (the precursor organization of von Braun's National Space Institute) can help you.
