On 2 September 1948, a little girl named Sharon Christa Corrigan was born in Boston, Massachusetts. On 28 January 1986, then known as Chista McAuliffe, an energetic and popular 37-year-old teacher and mother of two, she was killed along with six crewmembers in the Challenger tragedy. Today, Christa should have been celebrating her 60th birthday along with her family and friends. Who knows what Christa might have gone on to achieve had Challenger not been lost that freezing cold Florida day? I only know that her legacy (and that of the crew) is a powerful one, and it endures to this day. Nevertheless, I would just like to observe what would have been a personal milestone in Christa's life, which I still celebrate as one of profound inspiration. With a respectful nod to the heavens, Happy 60th Birthday, Christa. Colin |

Clearly she would have been an outstanding advocate for education and probably would have served as Education Secretary. At 60 she would probably be like Barbara Morgan, a professor at a college.Christa you were like a shooting star, brilliant, beautiful, but you passed way too quickly. Tim |
