Novaspace.com release
Frank Borman 2020 Signing
Gemini 7 and Apollo 8 mission commander Frank Borman is coming back to Novaspace.com in Tucson, where he will sign your mailed-in items privately at our office in late October! Don't miss this opportunity to get a custom-signed item for your collection. Simply decide how you want your items signed, fill in the order form, and get them to us by the deadline.
We are able to get pioneer astronauts to come to our shop for private, mail-in signings (no visitors) because of our unequaled reach and experience in the astronaut autograph market. In order to perform a private signing as flawlessly as we do, we must pay extreme attention to every detail: what, how, where, what color to sign, as well as returning hundreds of orders promptly and accurately.
This is not a public event; you cannot attend in person. Deadline for receiving all orders and items at Novaspace is Saturday, October 10, 2020.
Col. Borman is a “cold warrior.” His goal was to beat the Soviet Union to the moon. He didn’t care about the science or glory; his overriding concern was winning. After the Apollo 1 fire threatened to halt the Apollo program, his testimony before Congress saved the program. He became the Manager of the Apollo redesign team, showing the type of style that would later land him as the CEO of Eastern Airlines. The spacecraft was completely re-engineered in a little over a year. Borman was rewarded by personally beating the Soviets to the moon.

This is great news! I'm glad to hear that signings are still continuing. Hopefully they can get a signing with Lovell next. Getting a personalized Borman/Lovell combo on an Earthrise photo would be amazing.
Thank you!

Awesome! I have been hoping Col. Borman would do a signing this year. Every Christmas Eve in our household, we listen to the Apollo 8 Genesis reading. To this day, Col. Borman's closing words move me each time I hear them.
I'd really like some feedback on what inscription to get on an Earthrise photo. Still also debating between 8x10 or 16x20. Here are the candidates I've come up with so far:
In the beginning God...
God saw that it was good
Earthrise, Christmas 1968
Christmas Eve, 1968
God bless all of you - all of you on the good Earth

I strongly recommend the 16x20" size. The level of detail is so much greater, and it looks so much bolder in a large format. Novaspace charges $55 for that size, but I actually recommend getting it printed at Nation's Photo Lab instead, and mailing it in.
I have two Earthrise prints, signed by Borman and Collins. I got both printed at the Nation's Photo Lab website. If you use the "metallic" option, you get the photo printed with metallic inks, and the colors look amazing. And right now, they have all 16x20" prints on sale for under $15. So it's a great item at a very low price.
I still happen to have the HD digital file I sent to them. It's cropped to the 16x20" format and ready to go:
As for the inscription, I've been holding out hope for years that Novaspace will do another signing with Jim Lovell, so I can get both on my Earthrise print. If you'd also like to eventually have Lovell's signature, you may want to consider a Borman inscription which would go well with a Lovell inscription. Something like this:

Wow. That Borman and Lovell signed Earthrise is fantastic, with great quotes. Very cool.

Given the state the world is in today, I think "God bless all of you on the good Earth" would be most appropriate.

OLDIE, that's what I asked him to sign on mine a few years ago!

While Novaspace itself is great, I, and various other people I'm aware of, have had serious issues with the USPS since Covid has really hit. Just yesterday I checked a USPS tracking site to find out when a package of auction winnings would theoretically arrive. Surprise, surprise, on the site it said that the package had been delivered and signed for. Given that I live alone, it's obvious that no one could have signed for the package. I look out my window, and there is the package, not even in the mailbox, but lying out beside the mailbox right along the street.
I've also sent Certified Mail, that still has not been delivered after over 3 weeks, even though in theory it should only take 2-3 days to deliver it. I have also heard, via the rare coin collecting field, of various people who have sent items via Registered Mail (which is insurable) that the USPS has lost in transit.
Basically, what I'm saying is, if you have a high value item or an item of personal significance, I'd think about it before mailing it right now.
On the other hand, Novaspace has some great in house pictures you can purchase and have Borman sign.
For what it's worth, I do not know about how FedEx or UPS have been doing since Covid hit.

Certainly if you use USPS you should insure the item if sending it. Especially if it's unique or pre-signed by others.
I have found though, on some of the items I've had "go missing" the issue wasn't them actually missing. When I send in a request to find it, it usually had been in a transit facility waiting to move on due to a lack of employees handling items. My tracing usually results in it "showing up."
I've not used UPS but have used FedEx — no issues at all with them. Not all that much more pricewise, and it it's something like I mentioned above, at this stage of the game I'd go with them.
Or as Skyman says, use one of their images. But I wouldn't let any of this dissuade you from missing out on the signing, just insure, track, and follow up — or use FedEx.
Let's face it, we've lost so many Apollo guys so far, and Borman ain't young. He may not ever do any more signings.

Watching this video was simply wonderful! Such a down to earth guy — no pun intended. Thanks for offering this!

Awesome job by Novaspace and Col Borman on my three items.
Any chance of a Jim Lovell signing in the near future?
