The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation has announced that Space Rendezvous 2020 will be held at the South Shore Harbor Resort and Conference Center in League City, Texas and the Astronaut Autograph & Memorabilia Show will be returning to the Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Airport in Houston. Here at ASF we are closely monitoring the global COVID-19 outbreak. The health and safety of our ticketholders and special guests is our top priority. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation kindly invited me to moderate the STS-49 crew panel on Wednesday, Nov. 5. All seven astronauts will be taking part and we have a couple of surprises planned.STS-49 was the first mission of the space shuttle Endeavour and it included the only three-person spacewalk in history. Those are the well-known highlights: come to the event to learn from the astronauts about some of the other firsts they set during the 1992 flight. |

Robert, I can't wait for this one. Great choice for a moderator! 49 was a great mission! Turns out I've recently interviewed 3 of the 4 space walkers for our book (Outward Odyssey) on spacewalking and there are so many great stories. I hope to learn even more, but then again I hope you don't spill too many of the beans. |

Robert, great job moderating this panel discussion this evening. Great questions and then letting them run with it but reigning them back in to move on to a new subject. Too bad it had to be virtual. All 7 crewmembers came across as sincere and forthright about this amazing mission; it would have been even better in person. | |
