Thanks for posting! I have been waiting for info on the 2015 show. I moved to Orlando last year and had no idea this event was happening. Imagine my dismay when I found out about the 2014 show exactly one month after it was over!I do have one question about this event, and I'm hoping a veteran can help me out. It seems that astronauts who don't otherwise charge a fee to sign charge at these events. Did every astronaut charge a fee at last year's events? I don't mind if they charge, I just want to know if I should go ahead and learn how to file for bankruptcy. Any insight on this event would be super helpful. I wont miss this one for anything, autograph fees or not, I just didn't know if anyone could help me out? |

Thank you for the info, and for the quick reply. I'll have to sit tight and wait for the fees and guest list to be posted. The waiting is driving me crazy! Thanks again for your help! |

Heh! I was like a kid in a candy store, looking at my money, looking at my list, looking at my money again, trying to maximize my spending and trying to guess who would be at a future show or who makes regular appearances elsewhere...That said, if there's someone you want, get their autograph sooner than later. Even the shuttle astronauts are getting up there in age. At least one who signed at AAMS (the previous autograph show name) has since retired, and apparently has retired from signing by mail, too. Also remember that in addition to the show there's usually an astronaut at the Astronaut Encounter who will sign one of your item for free, and will sign a photo which they (the gift shop) provides for the 9.95 cost of the picture. |

That's a good point! Thanks for sharing. I usually try and go check out the Astronaut Encounter at KSC whenever I can. The signings are a great bonus, but they typically give a talk about their specific mission which is always really fascinating. I can't wait for more information about this year's show, and who will be there. I love getting autographs, but having the opportunity to meet some of the folks is equally as exciting. |

Does anyone have access to the list of fees charged by all of the attendees at last year's ASF show? I know the fees always change, but a list from last year would at least give me ballpark figures so that I could come up with a plan of attack. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help. |

Since the list of who is coming has yet to be announced, how would you come up with a plan of attack?

It would just be a bit of guess work, based on who showed up last year. But it's better than nothing. |

Not that I am aware of. Last year, it was an onsite ticketed event. Last November, Saturday and Sunday was the autograph show at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. |

They've had some nice surprises the three years I've attended. I'm hoping for some sort of miracle and an unusual autograph guest this year. |

So it looks like they posted the details of the Apollo Tickets for $1,600. Hopefully they will start posting more information related to other ticket levels and guests very soon. Also, fingers crossed for some sort of Hubble Space Telescope related signing. I wouldn't mind completing my STS-31 crew photo. |

It looks like all of the ticket options are up.This should be an exciting event. Will there be a get together of all the cS folks who are attending? I think we should try to make that happen. |

The first guests have also been announced: - Participating in the 25th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope dinner: Tom Akers, Steve Hawley, Bruce McCandless and Kathy Thornton.
- Participating in the Apollo-Soyuz to Today gala: Vance Brand and Norm Thagard.
The astronauts participating in the autograph show (if some or all of the above) is "coming soon." |

So exciting! I wonder if that means they will be participating in the autograph sessions as well? I would love to meet Bruce McCandless, but don't think I can make it to the gala. |

Given his participation in past shows and the upcoming Autographica, I suspect McCandless will be among the astronauts taking part in the autograph show, too. |

I'm anxiously awaiting the autograph show attendee list! Also my attempted emails to the ASF asking about it came back as undeliverable. Don't know if it's an issue on their end or mine but I've tried a couple times. |

They just added Jim Lovell to the autograph show!Just when I thought ASF was making it possible for me to skip this year they go and complicate things. Nice addition to the show. He had a big line last year. |

They haven't added many people lately but they did add Charlie Duke to the autograph show. Also I emailed Glynn Lunney and he said he will be bringing both hard and soft cover versions of his book to sell at the show. If you're attending the show I can't recommend too strongly that you should buy it. It's a great read and he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. |

Eileen Collins and Bruce Melnick have been removed from the autograph show list and are now near the top of the page with TBA next to their names. To Be Announced I assume? This reminds me of ASF shows in the past where astronauts' names would be added and deleted from the autograph show list constantly. The ASF should not put names on the list unless they have a rock solid commitment from the astronaut. It's very disappointing to see an astronaut be added to the list that you are very excited to get to meet then see their name removed a week later. |

I hope that's just a typo or placeholder - at least they're still both in the guest list. quote: Originally posted by MarkRP: The ASF should not put names on the list unless they have a rock solid commitment from the astronaut.
I'm afraid that's unavoidable, given commercial airline vagaries (no more easy access to T-38s) and advancing age (I recall one show where a moonwalker had to cancel last minute). The ASF people really work hard to try to make everyone happy - in any case, I'll be at the Rendezvous again this year with the expectation than if half of them appear it's worth it... |

It looks like a typo in there webpage code to me. THE TBA's would be for their fees columns.

I've been going to autograph shows of all kinds for 25 years. When a guest commits to attending a show and then something in their personal life comes up and they have to cancel that is understandable. But if the ASF is only getting a "maybe I can come, let me get back with you" they should not be posting them as attending until they get the "yes I will be there" call. That's all I'm saying. |

Easier said than done. Believe me when I tell you we've had some rock solid commitments at another unnamed show I work with, cancel. This is the nature of the beast. And the ASF folks are just as disappointed, even more so, than attendees. |

To clarify, we do only post astronauts' names once we have a solid confirmation from them. Sadly, things do happen and sometimes guests find that they are unable to attend. The issue with Collins and Melnick was an error with our CMS. We noticed the error today and corrected it. Somehow the table coding got twisted around. We apologize for any inconvenience and confusion this has caused. Thanks very much for your interest and patience as we post details. |

I was hoping to come down to the ASF Rendezvous next month, but personal matters might unfortunately be interfering with my ability to do so...Is there anyone in the cS community that might be willing to help me get a personal item signed by Col. Stafford in event this is the case? Thank you all! |
