Just heard a little snippet that there could be a visit from Jim Lovell and Fred Haise to add to that of Ed Mitchell at Autographica 12, October 24-26, 2008 at the Radisson Edwardian, London. They will have to get some more big names to top the visit of McDivitt and Scott. I would like to see Walt Cunningham and perhaps Dick Gordon, as they always seem to be a hit with the crowds. |

...and let's not forget the Cosmonauts. It would be nice if Krikalev and Tokarev could make it over this time. |

It would be a real treat to meet Dick Gordon again. He is particularly gracious and generous with his time. How about it Dave?Regards, Rick |

I'm relativley new to space collecting, started out at Autographica 10 by getting Buzz Aldrin, then followed up at Autographica 11 with Dave Scott, Jim McDivitt and Alexey Leonov. In retrospect I am kicking myself I didn't get more of the guests at Autographica 10, but I was on a bit of a budget that day and wasn't sure how far I was going to go with the space collecting. Any of the names that have been mentioned so far would be great from my point of view. |

Where did you hear this? A12 is only 2 weeks before the ASF show. I wonder if it's likely that they would attend both? |

I know Fred and Jim are getting on a bit (aren't we all) but these guys managed to pull though a somewhat eventful mission in 1970; I'm sure a transatlantic flight and two shows in a fortnight hold few fears. Hope the rumours are true.. Regards, Rick |

RE: Autographica 12 Lovell, Haise rumors: I asked Freddo Haise Sunday morning and here is his reply: "The rumor must have been started to boost attendance. I am not going and have not heard that Jim is going to this one. I do plan to support one (the first) that the ASF itself is sponsoring in November." Sy

While I doubt anyone here had bad intentions, Sy's post demonstrates why it may be a good thing to keep rumors like these out of public forums. For example, if Haise or Lovell have been offered the chance to go to Autographica and haven't yet said yes or no to the invitation, rumors might spoil negotiations for their appearances...lest the astronauts think the rumors were started to stir up interest in the event. |

Hello, I am Simon, Sir Patrick Moores' friend who was at Autographica with his display for the first time.I thought I would just inform you that he will be attending the October Autographica at Heathrow (health permitting) where I will be bringing him and we will again be selling his personally signed items. If anyone is interested then please note he will NOT be signing on the day but will be using his signature stamp and stamping items purchased from his display on the day or from his website prior to the event from www.star-distribution.co.uk his website. We have just introduced the new moon map, A3 to celebrate Apollo 1969-2009 all signed by Patrick. Please also remember this is the only site that has his items signed by him. Thank you. |

To be fair: I'm sure a lot of pressure is applied on the organisers to 'name the names' for the next show: their wish-lists are then upgraded incrementally until they become rumours. Let's leave it like this: Dr Mitchell SHOULD be attending and Dave & Jason will, I'm sure, do their utmost to firm up other bookings. They've come up with the goods every time so far, after all!As for 'stirring up interest': Autographica is the only show in town over here! D & J have no reason to hype their events, IMHO David Bryant www.thespace-station.com |

Well: Linda & I are booked in, both to the event, and to the hotel! The bottom line is that Autographica is the only proper horse in town and if we Brits don't support Dave & Jason, the only option will be a 3000 mile plane ride! See you there! David Bryant www.thespace-station.com |

And don't forget those of us who would swim (if we had to) across the channel to attend. We also support autographica, because for us that is pretty much it for a grouping of Apollo guys. (Mind you Aachen was a rare treat, and many thanks to this site for the heads up) |

Dont panic guys! For some reason the Autographica site reverted itself to an older verison. Probably the host had a problem, and restored the site using a backup version, which was a few days out of date from before Mitchell was added. I have now just re-added Mitchell Thanks

Why was the show moved back to London Heathrow? I have been to two London shows and neither seemed as busy as the last one near Birmingham. |

The impression I had with them doing two shows a year, one would be in Birmingham and one would be Heathrow. Its a bit strange for me, although I live much closer to Heathrow as the crow flies, its probably easier and almost cheaper for me to get to Birmingham via public transport anyway! |

Nice to see that Ed has confirmed, but we need to see some more big names. I have been to all the shows we need to see some big astro names.Mattingly, Schmitt, Borman - what do you think Dave? regards Paul |

I would love to see the Apollo 13 team back again, including Sy, but I suppose the chances are very slim due the close proximity of the KCS show. |

Highly unlikely I would have to say. If Schmitt and Borman are going to do a show it'll be Kim's Spacefest and as for Mattingly... if he'll do ANY show I'd think it would be the ASF show. I'd like to be proved wrong however . |

Hi Derek, hope is all well, Dave is busy at the moment but who would have thought that he would have got Lovell/Haise/McDivitt, I think that he will have someone top draw from the astro world. Paul |

Sergei Krikalev will be attending the 59th International Astronautical Congress in Glasgow from 29th September to 3rd October 2008. As it seems likely that he will have no problems obtaining a visa for this prestigious event, could we hope that he would obtain a visa for Autographica this time round? |

It'd be nice to think so, having paid for stand space, room and dinner for the weekend! Given the poor health of Drs Mitchell & Moore, it'd be a bit of an anticlimax if all we got was some crummy Bond bit-part villain and an extra from Dr Who!

It would have been nice if 'Around the World in 80 days' - The Authorised Biography of Astronaut Jerry Carr by David Shayler or Homesteading Space; The Skylab Story' had been available in time for the show.Andy |
