RR Auction's next space sale, scheduled for April 15 to 22, 2021, features the collection of the late Apollo 15 command module pilot Al Worden.

The 85 lots from the Worden estate (out of the 724 in the entire sale) include books, awards, flown hardware — including an Apollo 15 tether and hia gold astronaut pin — and more.

An incredible collection all around. Wow.

I found myself saying something strange to my wife this weekend: "Retail therapy is a process, not a destination."

LOL, some folks "retail therapy" is a lot more advanced than others.

Wow. $73,161.00 for an Armstrong signed photo. Item number 3187, is that a record?

I was also impressed by $5203 for a Fred Haise autograph, lot 3289!

But as a guy with several items sold in this auction I was overall pleased with the results, but definitely jealous of the person who sold that Armstrong 8x10, zowie!

Would have to be ... if that figure is correct.

At this point the figure seems to be correct according to the RR site Mike,

So with the buyers premium and converting it to Aus dollars the sum is almost $120,000.00 AUD. That's more than my first house.

I was disappointingly priced out of everything.

Impressive performance too by one of Pascal's custom F-1 builds at over 10K.

I was second best on a number of lots, especially the Apollo 15 unflown Robbins. Others were way out of my price range.

Some great prices for cS members like Pascal and Ed Hengeveld. $3696 for Lot 3469, a really nice Ed Hengeveld: Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt signed painting.

Do not understand $5296 for Lot 3447, an unflown (?) Charlie Duke signed lunar surface collection bag.

It is a record for an Armstrong single signed photo. $91,425 with buyers premium.

That hammer price will certainly make authenticators' jobs (like Steve) even more challenging as it will further incentivize the forgers.

Seems like an "Elon Musk" went on a buying spree.

Some additional items from Col Worden's collection ends tomorrow, May 12, for those who might have been shut out in the first sale.

(I am not affiliated with this auction in any way.)

One of the more interesting items was the A7L spacesuit gloves/hand casting. Al always displayed these in his homes (office, living room etc), they probably meant a lot to him.

All times are CT (US)
