Just wanted to pass along that there is an upcoming online space auction at Skinner on May 31, 2018: Rudolf Spoor covered NASA for Dutch media throughout the middle part of the century. With his press credentials, he had access to the people and facilities of the space program, but Rudolf's enthusiasm for exploration was as keen as his instinct to collect. Over forty years, Rudolf amassed more than 1,200 original NASA photographs, in addition to collecting NASA publications, souvenirs and other ephemera. Many of his NASA photographs are signed, as is the collection’s centerpiece: a NASA helmet signed by thirty-two astronauts, technicians, and scientists from the program, including Dr. Wernher von Braun, Terry White, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Eugene Cernan, James Lovell, and others. |

I do wish someone at the auction house had done a check for autopens. Half of the crew-signed items had autopens, including Apollo 7, 12, and 15. Also, there are dozens of Apollo lithos and 1970s-80s 8x10s with estimates of $500-800 each, when identical ones are available online for under $20. I'm just saying, if those estimates are accurate I have a three-ring binder full of them I could buy a small house with. Some nice items, but those others distract from them. |

The estimates are grossly inflated and that's being kind. |

I notified them last week about some autopens. Never heard back. I don't live far away so plan to take a closer look in person in a couple weeks. Yes, grossly over priced estimates on several items. Fairly disappointed in Skinner for not doing their homework. Maybe that's why these didn't go to up to New Hampshire... |

Just from a quick glance of the crew signed lithos that I have seen from this auction, all of the signed Apollo crew lithos contain autopens. |

Lot 2311 Apollo Lunar Module Model, Grumman and NASA, Photographs and Related Material, 1966-1969.Out of curiosity can someone explain what was so special about this model? Was it the fact that it was used on Dutch TV? Thanks. |

The Dutch tv thing must be it. It is a pretty ropey example of a Topping/Precise contractors model... with en even ropier "custom" job. | |
